20 Eastern Territory members with varying levels of organizing experience recently attended the IAM Organizing Department’s exciting new program to train beginners and less-experienced organizers and IAM representatives at the Winpisinger Center (W3). The Eastern Territory is the second territory to have members participate in the class.
The program, a three-day Basic Training for Organizers, is part of the IAM CORP (Comprehensive Organizing Restructuring Plan), incorporates PowerPoint presentations, videos, organizing campaign interactive exercises, role-playing, and real-life organizer experiences to provide the participants with practical knowledge, experience, techniques, strategies, and tools needed to run a successful organizing campaign from its onset to conclusion.
“I was honored to be there with Chief of Staff Chuck Herod to speak with our members on their first day of class,” said IAM Eastern Territory General Vice President David Sullivan. “I commend Organizing Director Addeo and his team for creating an original curriculum that will provide our members the necessary tools to start and see an organizing campaign to its successful conclusion. Brother Addeo and his staff have implemented a comprehensive outline that will bode well in future organizing campaigns.”
The class was taught by IAM Organizing Director Vinny Addeo and the Organizing Department Staff/Legal Department so that the participants will receive “first-hand” organizing experiences.
