Members of IAM Local 1045 in Algona, IA raised $1,600 to donate items to a local nursing home as part of the “IAM H.E.L.P.S. in the Community” program.

Members of IAM Local 1045 recently brought smiles and much-needed relaxation to residents of a local nursing home in Algona, IA.

The members, after raising $1,600, donated blankets, lotions and games to the residents of the Algona Manor. They were also able to purchase geriatric chairs, also known as medical recliners, for at least three residents to use.

The effort was a part of the IAM Midwest Territory’s “IAM H.E.L.P.S. in the Community” program, an initiative to support the Territory’s continued efforts to provide essential support to the communities in which we live. IAM H.E.L.P.S. stands for Honoring, Engaging, Lifting, Providing and Servicing.

“Congratulations to the members of IAM Local 1045 on raising $1,600 for the residents of Algona Manor,” said IAM Midwest Territory General Vice President Philip J.
