The TCU/IAM Advanced Training Services Department (TSD) program held a dedication ceremony for the newly donated Union Pacific railcar at the Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center. Students in the TCU/IAM trade will now have the opportunity to learn the skills of their craft on a real railcar that is stationed on the campus.
The Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center is now one of three Centers in the nation to have the opportunity to do hands-on training in this way. Mr. Lane Shelton, TSD Excelsior Springs Lead Field Educational Representative, was the powerhouses behind this incredible project…along with students from the TSD, Carpentry, Masonry, Welders, Painters, Home Builders Institute and even Culinary programs.
