Sisters and Brothers,
Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., an iconic civil rights activist who viewed discrimination and anti-unionism as closely related ills. He was a champion for labor rights whose teachings can serve us well in these trying times, when these rights are under constant assault.
Dr. King’s commitment to peace, non-violent protest and equality for all carry more weight now than ever before. There isn’t a more important time for us to remember those words.
