IAM Commemorates International Civil Aviation Day
Today is International Civil Aviation Day, annually observed December 7 to raise awareness of the importance of international civil aviation in social and economic development across the globe.

The day was established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the United Nations body responsible for developing international standards and safety measures to be followed by the civil aviation industry around the world.

“International Civil Aviation Day recognizes the vital role the airline industry and our members play in improving lives worldwide,” said Transportation General Vice President Sito Pantoja. “It also highlights how aviation and worker safety is a global issue that should have no borders.”

International Civil Aviation Day has been celebrated by the ICAO since 1994, the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Convention on International Civil Aviation, which was enacted in 1944 to establish cooperation and uniformity in aviation internationally.
