Stock Clerks at PSA Airlines Vote Overwhelmingly to Join the IAM Union

Approximately 150  stock clerks at PSA Airlines have overwhelmingly voted to join the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM). PSA Airlines is part of the American Airlines Group, operating over 500 daily flights on behalf of American Airlines. The IAM continues to grow its membership in the air transport industry, and this election marks a significant step forward in strengthening worker representation.

“I want to commend all of the PSA stock clerks who voted to join the IAM,” said IAM Air Transport Territory General Vice President Richie Johnsen. “The results reflect the determination of stock clerks at PSA Airlines to secure better wages, job security, and benefits. This victory reinforces the collective power of IAM Air Transport to advocate for airline workers and ensure that they have a seat at the table.”

“Our team has worked tirelessly to ensure the voices of PSA stock clerks were heard,” said IAM Air Transport Territory Transportation Coordinator James Carlson. “This win represents not only a step forward for our members at PSA but also for the entire airline industry and any unrepresented groups seeking to join a union.”

“This is a proud moment to welcome the PSA stock clerks into our District 142 family,” said IAM District 142 President and Directing General Chair John Coveny Jr. “Stock clerks at PSA Airlines are vital to the success of the American Airlines operation, and their decision to join IAM underscores the need for fair treatment and better working conditions.”

“The organizing committee at PSA Airlines demonstrated tremendous courage and dedication throughout this campaign,” said IAM Associate Organizer Tom Marshall. “We are excited about the future and the positive changes this victory will bring to our members and their families.”

As the IAM continues its efforts to organize more workgroups within the aviation sector, this election serves as another reminder of the critical role unions play in defending the rights of air transport employees across the industry.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is the largest and most powerful airline union in North America, representing more than 100,000 air transport members in North America. The IAM is one of the largest and most diverse industrial trade unions in North America, representing approximately 600,000 active and retired members in the aerospace, defense, airlines, railroad, transit, healthcare, automotive, and other industries.
