Transportation Local Lodges Continue to Donate to Disaster Relief Fund
Two more Transportation Local Lodges have recently passed motions to donate to the IAM Disaster Relief Fund. Local Lodge 914 will donate $30,000 and Local Lodge 498 will contribute $10,000. Both locals felt compelled to help after receiving General Vice President Sito Pantoja’s letter urging all Transportation Locals to aid their sisters and brothers in need.

“I thank the officers and members of Local Lodges 498 and 914 for their substantial donations,” said GVP Pantoja. “I hope their generosity will spur other locals and districts to also donate.”

“Dozens of members from Local Lodge 914 were impacted by Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and were recipients of IAM Disaster Relief checks,” said GVP Pantoja. “They understand the importance of even a few extra dollars at such a difficult time as our members in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico are now enduring.

To date, three Transportation Local Lodges, 498, 914 and 2339N, have donated a total of $65,000 to the IAM Disaster Relief Fund, in addition to many members’ personal donations.

“I am again asking that all our local officers bring this motion to their members and encourage their local to donate whatever they can afford,” said GVP Pantoja.”
