Vote to help Guide Dogs of America (GDA) Receive 10 Million Charity Miles on United Airlines.

12 10 2013 charitymilesThe United Charity Miles Holiday Campaign awards participating nonprofits with free miles to use for travel, transport and other needs. Users are asked to vote for their favorite nonprofit every day through December 31. The more votes an organization gets, the more miles it will receive at the end of the campaign.

The United Charity Miles Holiday Campaign is a great way to give back and show your support for Guide Dogs of America,” said GDA President Dale Hartford. “GDA uses the miles to provide travel for an average of 25 blind students to attend guide dog training each year. We also use the miles to send trainers out to evaluate potential students, provide follow-up training for graduates, and to do in-home training when that service is the only way we can meet the student’s needs.”

“We currently rank seventh in the United campaign with 1,928 votes, which means we’re off to a great start. We’re counting on our Machinists family to take us to No. 1.”

“I urge all IAM Transportation members to vote as much as they can for this most worthy cause,” said General Vice President Sito Pantoja.”Guide Dogs of America is a great organization that helps change lives. I thank all IAM members in advance for their continued support.”

Guide Dogs of America is a nonprofit organization that provides professionally-trained guide dogs to blind and visually-impaired individuals.
