Texas Adds 110 Members from Sheppard AFB

Local 2771 in Wichita Falls, TX, which is part of District 776, gained about 110 new members following a recent election at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX.
The workers who voted to join the IAM are employed by Defense Support Services and provide facilities maintenance at the base. The jobs had recently converted from civil service to service contract and the employees were concerned about the level of benefits, and the cost of those benefits.
“I’d like to recognize Local 2771 Organizing Committee members Mike Gray, Willie Lenart and Bud Dulwort for their hard work on this campaign,” said District 776 Business Representative David Webb, who handled the election.
It’s a great win for Local 2771 and District 776,” said Southern Territory GVP Bob Martinez. “I’d like to welcome our newest members to the Machinist Union family.”
