Texas Machinists and the Tarrant County Chapter of LCLAA (Labor Council for Latin American Advancement) once again joined the annual Cesar Chavez March for Education, honoring the life and work of Chavez. About 200 marchers marched through downtown Fort Worth, TX, to the Trinity River Campus of Tarrant County College.
After the march, marchers enjoyed music, food and speakers. “We always have a great time,” said Local 776 member and Tarrant County LCLAA Chapter President Pauline Ramos. “It’s important to remind the community how important Cesar Chavez’s work was to our nation.”
“Cesar Chavez was a great labor leader, and an inspiration to Machinists and workers everywhere,” said Southern Territory GVP Bob Martinez. “The IAM is proud to be involved in LCLAA and the march honoring Chavez.”
