Toronto Machinists Ratify New Accord with TBH

Machinists members in Toronto, ON, who are employed at TBH (Toronto Baggage Handling) have ratified a new collective bargaining agreement.

“The members have ratified a 23-month agreement and the alternative after a year of often intense negotiations was strike action,” said District 140 Organizer Ian Morland. “I can’t say enough about the hard work and commitment by Shop Steward Adam Skitch and Zaid Hamdam of the bargaining committee to achieve this agreement.”

The members will receive wage increases ranging from 3 to 11 percent depending upon individual seniority. Additional highlights in the new agreement include improved benefits and improved contract language.

TBH employs 70 members of Local 2323 who perform various duties related to the handling of oversized baggage and inter-terminal baggage transfers at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
