TSOs Deserve a Voice at Work – NOW!

The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) and the AFL-CIO are holding a rally on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 in support of collective bargaining rights for 40,000 Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) who work in the nations airports. In 2001, when the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was created, President Bush and congressional Republicans denied TSOs union and other basic workplace rights declaring that “union rights would jeopardize national security.” Now, more than eight years later, TSOs still have no union rights!

It’s time for President Obama to instruct Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to grant TSOs their full workplace rights, including the right to a Voice at Work. Workplace protections must also be enacted into law by the passage of H.R. 1881— the Transportation Security Workforce EnhancementAct.

Join us insending President Obama and Secretary Napolitano this message:

“It’s Union Time!!”

Date: Tuesday, February 23, 2010
Location: In front of the AFL-CIO Headquarters
