U.S. Trade Representative Meets with Minnesota District 77 Members

U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai recently traveled to Minneapolis to highlight the Biden-Harris administration’s Invest in America agenda and attend a roundtable with the IAM District 77 members to highlight USTR’s worker-centered trade policy. Ambassador Tai is the principal trade advisor, negotiator, and spokesperson on U.S. trade policy.

Members had an opportunity to meet and speak with Tai about trade issues and concerns surrounding our Membership.

“It’s important that working men and women can count on policies with strong and enforceable labor standards that deliver real benefits to working families,” said IAM Midwest Territory General Vice President Steve Galloway.

“Ambassador Tai updated the delegation on trade policies,”said IAM District 77 Directing Business Representative John Steigauf. “She also discussed her plans to make sure the policies are being enforced.”Retired member of IAM Local 1956, Kirby Kruse spoke on behalf of the members employed at Toro Manufacturing in Windom.

IAM Local 459 member Mike Carlson, spoke on behalf of the members employed at Despatch Industries in Lakeville.IAM District 77 President and Local 459 member Alejandro Gonzales spoke on behalf of the members employed at Danfoss.
