Nearly 3,000 IAM-represented mechanics across the U.S. at United Parcel Service (UPS) and UPS Freight recently ratified a new contract. The new five-year accord falls under a national master agreement, features major improvements in nearly every area of the current agreements.
The new national contract increases wages, protects benefits including health care coverage and improves their retirement security.
“The IAM-UPS national agreements provide wage and benefit improvements that reflect the skill and dedication these workers demonstrate day in and day out,” said Eastern Territory General Vice President Jimmy Conigliaro Sr. “This contract provides the security that our members and their families deserve.
“My thanks and appreciation go to everyone on the negotiating team,” said Conigliaro. “The professionalism and resolve they brought to the table produced a tremendous agreement that our members can be proud of.”
