May 6, 2010
IAM members in 44 states can celebrate yet another victory with the successful test launch of the “Launch Abort System” for the Orion crew exploration vehicle. The test, conducted by NASA at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, sent the entire Orion crew exploration vehicle safely down range in a remarkable display of technology.

“The IAM members at nearly every level of this important project have much to be proud of,” said International President Tom Buffenbarger. “This is yet another reason why the U.S. manned space program should be preserved and enhanced rather than dismantled and outsourced.”
