Wall Street Tycoon Pushes Peacetime WPA
December 6, 2011
A 68-year-old Wall Street veteran echoes UCubed in calling on President Obama to create a 21st century version of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Works Progress Administration (WPA).
Leon Cooperman’s 9-point plan, made public alongside an open letter from the tycoon to the president, includes a call for a peacetime WPA effort to rebuild U.S. infrastructure.
UCubed has long held that the historic program must be resurrected and retrofitted in order to put America’s 28 million unemployed back to work and jumpstart today’s economy. See our ongoing WPA Facebook campaign here.
