The IAM’s William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center teaches many courses. One of these important programs is the Leadership I program that teaches participants the skills and duties necessary to be a good local officer and active member.

The Leadership I program is the first of three successive programs designed for upcoming leaders. Recently, 60 IAM members filled two classrooms to explore the fundamentals of trade unionism and the basic laws and operation of the IAM through topics such as labor history, parliamentary procedure and lodge administration, IAM structure and services, government and politics, role of the steward, and human rights.

IAM Local 737 member Austin Lux gives a report about a recent Leadership I program.
