WASHINGTON, DC – September 21, 2010 –The National Mediation Board (NMB) today acted on an International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) application and ordered a union representation election for more than 14,000 Fleet Service Workers at Delta Air Lines.
“This election is only possible because of the overwhelming support from Delta Fleet Service workers,” said General Vice President Robert Roach, Jr. “Delta workers have been very receptive of the IAM’s message of fairness on the job, guaranteed wages and secure pensions.”
The NMB set the election to run from October 14 – November 18, 2010. Fleet Service workers can cast their votes either through a website or by telephone.
The Machinists Union is waiting for the NMB to act on additional applications for elections on behalf of Delta Air Lines’ Passenger Service Agents, Stores Clerks and Plant Protection employees.
