Press Release: Voting Schedule Set for Boeing Machinists

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Decatur, AL, January 30, 2006 – The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) will present Boeing’s latest proposal to striking Machinists for ratification voting on Feb. 1, 2006. Contrary to statements by Boeing, there was no “understanding” between IAM negotiators and Boeing that led to the latest offer.

“After negotiating for a day and a half, this was Boeing’s new offer. It’s that simple. Within the confines of labor law and the IAM Constitution, we are required to bring this back to our membership for a vote,” said IAM spokesman Bob Wood.

IAM members in Florida and California will begin voting on February 1, 2006, at 10 AM. Voting in Huntsville, AL will commence at 12 Noon, and IAM members in Decatur, AL will begin voting at 5 PM. All times are local time zones for each location.

Results will be posted on the IAM website at http://www.goiam.org/issue.cfm?cID=5966.
