The commitment letter establishes a mission statement adopted by the Inter-Union Coordinated Bargaining Committee. Participation in the I-U CBC is based on the recognition of the value of working together for the improvement of the welfare of all union members through the strengthening of the representation of the union (solidarity works!). The I-U CBC objectives are to provide leadership, technical assistance, strategic planning, and coordination of efforts in bargaining.

Each union will provide contract data electronically to be merged with the data already accumulated by the IAM, UAW, and USWA to expand the Unified Contract Query System. It is understood that the data will be used by the unions providing the data and such use shall be limited to coordinated bargaining and organizing and shall be held in the highest confidence. It will not be made public by any of the participating unions.

The President of each union shall identify a contact person as part of the International President’s Committee (IPC), responsible for coordinating their inter-union activity.
