Collective Bargaining — 6

The union representing the largest membership within a given coordinated committee (employer or industry) will be responsible for:

  • Contacting the other involved unions to schedule meetings.
  • Make arrangements for meetings.
  • Chair and/or facilitate meetings.
  • Gather and distribute at the initial meeting information relating to the employer or industry which will include the following:

a.Plant logistics―location, employment numbers, identity of certified representative or absence of one.

b.Product information.

c.Financial information.

d.Company/industry structure.

e.Any other information.

Each participating union will be responsible for providing copies of contract analysis for labor agreements involving their union.

When there is no union that clearly represents a majority of employees on a coordinated bargaining committee, all participating unions will share the role as described above.

Further, a similar structure will be created, reduced to writing in easily understood terms, and provided for adoption by all participating unions that will outline how they will handle organizing within companies or industries that the designated President’s representatives (IPC) may choose.
