Bryan Pinette

Pinette began his career with the IAM in 2008 when he was hired at Boeing in St. Louis. He quickly became involved in the IAM and held many committee positions within his local and district. In 2011, he was appointed as the Local 837A Secretary-Treasurer and then elected into the position in 2013. In 2015, he became District 837’s Educator. Following the 2012 Grand Lodge Convention, Pinette was tasked by District 837’s Directing Business Representative with launching the District 837 Young Machinists Committee, which made great strides in promoting union activism within the membership and in the community. The committee also contributed significantly to Guide Dogs of America fundraising efforts.

In 2015, Pinette was appointed by General Secretary-Treasurer Dora Cervantes as a Grand Lodge Auditor, with the responsibility of assisting Locals and Districts in Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, and Montana with financial matters and protecting the members’ resources. This position took him nationwide while performing Fee Reduction Audits to ensure the proper percentage was calculated. In 2022, Pinette was appointed to his current role as Special Assistant to the General Secretary-Treasurer. His duties include the day-to-day operation of the Auditing Department with the Grand Lodge Auditors and coordinating with the Winpisinger Center on Financial Officer Classes.

Before assuming the position of Special Assistant to the GST, Pinette was involved in multiple legislative efforts at the state level in Missouri. He represented his Local and District at the Missouri State Council of Machinists, Tri-County Labor Club, and held a township seat in the Missouri St. Charles County Central Democratic Committee. In 2014, Pinette ran for a Missouri State House seat, earning over 31 percent of the vote in a predominantly Republican district. Pinette’s wife and three daughters provided significant support in running the campaign, reflecting their commitment as a strong Union Family.
