Yusuf began his working career in the transportation industry in 1998 for Continental Airlines (today United Airlines) at Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, NJ. He was initiated into the union in 2015 with Local Lodge 1781 after working in EWR, ATL, and RNO over the span of 26 years.
In his union capacity, Yusuf held the positions of shop steward, ramp committee person, human rights delegate, MNPL Legislative delegate, and local auditor. He has completed Leadership I, Leadership II, Advanced Leadership, Train-The-Trainer, Human Rights Program, and Foundational Skills classes at the Wipinsinger Education and Technology Center (W3).
Yusuf is currently working as Associate Organizer with International Organizing Department and has worked on organizing drives in both the public and private sectors. He has been tasked with administering the Organizing Department’s IAM Union Buster Database under the direction of International Organizing Department Director Mike Evans.
