Help Support Log Truck Drivers in Oregon

The Oregon legislature has re-drafted log truckers bargaining bill. The new bill is HB 3561. We need all Oregon Machinists and their friends and family to click on the link below and send a letter to your  legislator immediately. We have until next week to get enough support in the House to send the bill to the Senate.

Help Oregon log truckers win the rights of collective bargaining and support our rural communities.  The timber and logging industry in Oregon is currently dominated by a handful of large corporations who set rates for truckers in a near monopolistic environment. The newly-introduced legislation would allow trucker cooperatives to join with the IAM to negotiate living wages and benefits for loggers and drivers, many who live in rural communities. Current law prohibits log-truck operators from banding together to negotiate hauling rates.
