IAM Local 1238 member Dillon Dannat from Clinton, Iowa is reflecting on his experience attending the IAM’s William W Winpisinger Education and Technology (W3) Center for a comprehensive negotiation preparation program.
He emphasizes the educational value of the training, specifically highlighting a session with IAM legal counsel, who clarified the distinctions between mandatory bargaining subjects and illegal labor practices.
Through interactive exercises and scenario-based quizzes, Dannat and his IAM siblings gained critical insights into navigating economic data and workplace conditions during contract talks.
Dannat and thousands of other IAM members come through the W3 Center each year for specialized labor education, which equips members with the legal and strategic tools necessary to secure fairer employment agreements.
