Bouygues Has New Projects in Turkmenistan
The French group Bouygues has signed new contracts for 160 M € in Turkmenistan including the construction of two buildings one in the heart of the Turkmen Parliament and the Institute for sport and tourism.
Recently, Bouygues built the mausoleum at the request of former President Niazov and the great mosque of Central Asia.
Dubai: The Burj Khalifa Tower is the Tallest Man-Made Structure Ever Built
The Burj Khalifa Tower is the tallest man-made structure ever built in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, at 828 m. The total budget for the project was about US$1.5 billion. Construction began on 21 September 2004, with the exterior of the structure completed on 1 October 2009 and the building officially opened on 4 January 2010.
12,000 people will live and work in the tower.
The skyscraper is now taller than Taippei 101 in Taiwan.

“It was never as difficult for the forest, wood processing and paper industry as it is today. Many workers are on forced leave, many of those who would have a chance to work are without health insurance and safety at work, while most of the workers fear bankruptcies or liquidations of companies in which they work. In only four years 3066 jobs disappeared. We cannot remain silent and we must oppose those who want to exploit workers”, said Salem Hujic, the re-elected president at the 4th Congress of the Independent Trade Union of Forestry, Wood Processing and Paper in Bosnia and Herzegovina, SSSPDPBIH. The congress was held on 16 October 2009 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. 86 delegates participated in the event.
The congress focused on building a strong democratic and independent trade union, building solidarity with the workers, strengthening social dialogue and signing a collective agreement for the whole sector, promoting equality and a full participation in the EU integration process and regional cooperation.
The delegates stressed that the situation is very difficult due to the “bad privatizations and privatization robberies which did not create employment and decent work”.
“We are happy with our cooperation, assisting your organization to build a strong union by motivating young and women workers to play an active role.”, said Ole-Kristian Paulsen, Industrienergy, Norway.
Jasmin Redzepovic, BWI project coordinator for South Eastern Europe, extended the International’s solidarity and support for an active participation of the SSSPDP into the BWI Pan European Work encouraging, particularly the promotion of SFM and certification efforts. The new Law on Healthy and Safety in the FBiH in preparation for more than two years will be in line with EU regulations and therefore gives workers great expectations.
