IAM Salutes Retiring Auditor Bob Hamilton

Grand Lodge Auditor Bob Hamilton was the guest of honor at a reception marking his retirement after an IAM career that began more than 40 years ago as a member of Local 912 in Cincinnati, OH.

Hamilton served in numerous local and district lodge positions before becoming a GLA in 1995, including Grand Lodge delegate and full-time financial officer for Local 912.

General Secretary-Treasurer Warren Mart thanked Hamilton for his service and noted his reputation as a “go to” guy among fellow auditors. “If you needed something done right or an answer about something important, you went to see the guy known as ‘By the book Bob’,” said Mart, who praised Hamilton as “a true journeyman.”

IAM International President Tom Buffenbarger also thanked Hamilton for his service, recalling their days as co-workers at General Electric in Cincinnati. “We looked out for one another and took care of each other,” said Buffenbarger. “We were IAM brothers.”
