Join UCubed’s Get-Out-the-Vote Campaign

The right to vote and choose our leaders is at the heart of what it means to be an American.

But right now, all across America, Republican lawmakers and their corporate backers are undermining that fundamental freedom. They’re pushing through new laws that make it harder for the unemployed, young people, people of color and seniors to register to vote and cast a ballot.

Why? Because they’ll do anything to win. If they can’t count on your vote, they’d rather you not be counted at all.

In the 2012 presidential and congressional elections, an estimated 40 million voters will come from households where someone has been unemployed in the last four years. Because of their lack of employment, many of these voters may have lost their home to foreclosure or moved because they couldn’t afford the rent.

If you’ve moved since the last time you voted, your right to vote could be challenged at the polls. Avoid potential problems by adding “Update voting address/register to vote” to your holiday to-do list. It’s never too early! Simply click here. Fill out the form. Print it. Sign it. And drop it in the mail.
