Ramp/Stores to Vote on Tentative Accord at Alaska

IAM District 142 and Alaska Airlines this week reached a tentative agreement for approximately 600 Ramp and Stores employees at the carrier. The proposed deal took less than four months to bargain and the negotiating committee has unanimously recommended ratification.

“Job security was our number one issue heading into these negotiations, and this agreement delivers not only job protection, but an enhanced financial package and an opportunity for future growth,” said District 142 President and Directing General Chairman Tom Higginbotham.

“This tentative agreement addresses the concerns of our members,” said District 142 General Chairman and chief negotiator Jeffrey Tobius. “I thank the members of our negotiating committee for their hard work and dedication.”

The proposed six year deal provides for wage increases, two signing bonuses, enhanced job and merger protection language and improved benefits and work rules. District Lodge 142 has released a ratification schedule. Please click here to view the ratification bulletin.
