UCubed Slams GOP ‘Chutzpah’ Over Jobs Data

The real unemployment rate rose to 17.3 percent as the number of real unemployed workers increased by 463,000 in June, fueling concerns that the economy has taken a turn for the worse.

“Another month, another dismal jobs report which the GOP will incredibly trumpet as a reason to vote for them,” said UCubed Executive Director Rick Sloan. “Now that’s chutzpah.

“It’s difficult to fathom how GOP politicians can vote against every jobs bill and ask jobless voters to save their careers. For the last forty months, the GOP has done zip to end this jobless recovery and doing nothing has led to a predictable result: not a damn thing changes.

“The GOP can deny their culpability in this jobs crisis and behave like no one noticed. But 28.1 million jobless Americans noticed, and they won’t forget,” said Sloan. “UCubed won’t let them.”

With over 105,000 activists who regularly connect with 27.8 million Facebook friends, UCubed represents a significant demographic in the upcoming elections.
