IAM Mourns Former Auditor Gerry Zannella

Former Grand Lodge Auditor Gerry Zannella passed away on November 8, 2013. Zannella was a member of Local Lodge 1017 in Providence, RI.
A truck mechanic by trade, he initiated into Local 1605 in 1965 and soon transferred to Local 1017 where he held numerous positions including Secretary-Treasurer.
Zannella became a Grand Lodge Auditor in 1971 and served in that capacity until he retired in 1996. Besides his 48-year career as an IAM member, Zannella was a U.S. Navy veteran, was active in his church and community and is survived by three generations of the Zannella family.
“Gerry and many others in the Zannella family were and are great contributors to this union,” said IAM President Tom Buffenbarger. “The IAM has lost an outstanding member and our hearts go out to everyone in the family. Gerry will long be remembered for his devotion to his union, his community and his family.”
