Activist Alert: Call Your Senators Today to Stop Fast Track

Call your Senators now. Tell them to vote “no” to Fast Track for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

We need to flood Congress with phone calls today before the first vote on Fast Track, which would bar Congress from any meaningful debate or ability to offer amendments to the massive free trade deal. The Senate vote is scheduled for today at approximately 2:30 p.m. EDT.

Right now, the administration is scrambling to find votes to support Fast Track in its first hurdle through the U.S. Congress. We need to send a clear message: Decisions that affect all of us should not be made in secret without input from the public and our elected officials.

“We must not allow secret trade agreements like the TPP to be railroaded through Congress,” said IAM International President Tom Buffenbarger. “The Trans-Pacific Partnership must be stopped and re-negotiated to benefit all Americans.”

TPP threatens everything working families care about: democracy, jobs, the environment and the internet. Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL) outlines the startling consequences of Fast Track and TPP in this video.
