Important Federal Mediation Conference to Resume

The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) has for many years hosted a highly successful biennial National Labor Management Conference. This conference brings together hundreds of labor-management practitioners and features a wide variety of cutting edge topical workshops presented by well-known advocates, academics and national leaders in labor-management relations.

In response to repeated inquiries from the labor-management community and in recognition of the complex challenges they are facing, FMCS hopes to reconvene this important conference. FMCS has tentatively planned this multi-day conference for the week of August 15, 2016 in Chicago, home of previous well-attended FMCS National Conferences. Registration costs will be determined based on interest, but as in the past, they will be comparable to other premier training and professional development conferences.

While the need for such a conference may seem self-evident, and FMCS has long prided itself on being responsive to the needs of its labor-management customers, as a government agency, it must manage its budget prudently and in complete compliance with federal regulations. It is, therefore, most important that FMCS hears from you regarding your interest and support.

Your responses will enable FMCS to move forward in its planning. Please respond by October 31, 2015.
