You can now register for the 2019 AFL-CIO Metal Trades Department Conference, September 30 to October 3 at Bally’s Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The deadline for the special hotel rate is August 23, 2019.
IAM members should be prepared to attend the IAM Delegates meeting on Tuesday, October 1 at 9:30 a.m. to discuss issues at the department, council and local lodges. Please have a written report to provide to the department at this meeting.
IAM Delegates will discuss ways to improve the lives of our members working in the metal trades.
A charity golf tournament will be held on Monday, September 30 at Desert Pines Golf Club benefitting Guide Dogs of America. Last year’s tournament raised $58,000 for GDA, thanks to the Metal Trades Department and its 17 affiliate unions.
“This year’s conference will again feature a Guide Dogs of America Golf Tournament,” said IAM Government Employees Department Director James Price. “We are hoping to make it an even greater success than last year.”
Anyone planning on attending all events should expect to travel to Las Vegas on Sunday, September 29 and return home on Friday, October 4.
