Last Chance: Deadline Approaching for EAP I Program at the Winpisinger Center

The IAM Retirees and Membership Assistance Department is excited to announce that registration is now open for EAP I, the first program in the IAM’s comprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP) series. This highly respected training will be held Jan. 25-30, 2026, at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland. Registration closes Dec. 1, 2025.

The EAP I program provides IAM-EAP representatives with essential skills to assist members facing personal challenges that impact their well-being and work life. Participants will receive foundational training in recognizing and supporting members struggling with a wide range of issues, including:

  • Acute Stress Disorder
  • Addiction & Alcoholism
  • Depression
  • Excessive Absenteeism & Presenteeism
  • Excessive Debt
  • Gambling Addiction
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • Suicide Prevention
  • Workplace and Domestic Violence
  • Emerging Psycho-Social Issues

Designed to take members from an introduction to the field through a path toward advanced training and prospective certification, this program remains one of the IAM’s most valuable tools for strengthening support networks across our union.

Whether on the shop floor, in the EAP community, or within IAM local and district lodges, EAP-trained representatives play a vital role in helping fellow Machinists navigate life’s hardest moments.
