IAM Union General Secretary-Treasurer Dora Cervantes and IAM Union Air Transport Territory General Vice President Richie Johnsen recently visited multiple classes at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center (W3), reinforcing the IAM’s commitment to education, organizing, and developing the next generation of labor leaders.
The visit included participation in Organizing I classes taught in both Spanish and English, as well as the Young Workers Leadership Program. Students from across North America gathered at W3 to strengthen their skills and deepen their commitment to growing the IAM.
IAM General Secretary-Treasurer Dora Cervantes highlighted the importance of holding organizing education in Spanish and ensuring that all members have access to the necessary tools to lead. Her visit amplified the IAM’s ongoing commitment to inclusion, education, and empowering members at every level of the union.
IAM Air Transport Territory General Vice President Richie Johnsen met with organizers and young workers, praising their dedication and enthusiasm, so close to the holidays.
Young Workers participants said the visit reinforced their role within the labor movement and affirmed that they have a seat at the table.
The W3 Center continues to serve as the cornerstone of IAM education, offering programs that develop organizers, leaders, and activists equipped to lift working families and strengthen the labor movement across North America.
