IAM Urges Congress to Act on Behalf of Federal Workers

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit overturned a lower court ruling blocking the implementation of three controversial Executive Orders taking aim at federal employee unions. The Executive Orders changed rules on federal employee collective bargaining, grievance procedures, office space, due process and official time.

IAM International President Robert Martinez Jr. sent a letter to congress urging them to take legislative action to protect workers that are negatively impacted by the ruling.

“The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and its affiliate National Federation of Federal Employees-IAMAW Federal District 1 seeks your support in pursuing legislative remedies to block and reverse these destructive executive orders,” Martinez states in the letter. “The days of disrespecting the federal workforce by this Administration must come to an end.”
