Pacific Northwest IAM Boeing Workers Donate to Support IAM District 837 Boeing Workers on Strike in St. Louis

ST.LOUIS, Oct. 10, 2025—In a strong show of solidarity, IAM Union (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers) District 751 in Washington State has donated $32,000 to the IAM Union District 837 strike fund to support members on strike against The Boeing Company in St. Louis.

The contribution underscores the unity and shared purpose across the IAM, as District 837 members continue their fight for a fair contract. Since the strike began on Aug. 4, support has poured in from across the labor movement, including local unions, elected officials, and community allies.

“District 837 members are standing up for the respect and dignity every Boeing worker deserves,” said IAM Union District 751 President and Directing Business Representative Jon Holden. “Our members in the Pacific Northwest know firsthand the power of solidarity. This contribution is about standing shoulder to shoulder with our union family in St. Louis. Boeing can afford to do the right thing, and it’s time they come to the table and bargain in good faith.”

Holden led more than 30,000 IAM members through a 53-day strike against Boeing in 2024, resulting in major gains for workers in the Pacific Northwest. He joined the St. Louis strikers at a rally earlier this month to show his support and deliver the donation in person.

IAM District 837 members voted to strike after Boeing refused to negotiate a fair agreement that values their skill, dedication, and contribution to our nation’s troops and national security. Negotiations between IAM Union District 837 and Boeing are ongoing under the supervision of a federal mediator.

“Our members are proud of the work they do building critical aerospace and defense products,” said IAM Union District 837 President and Directing Business Representative Tom Boelling. “We are deeply grateful for the unwavering support from District 751 and the entire IAM family. Together, we’re sending a clear message: when one of us is under attack, we all stand together.”

The IAM Strike Fund is on goIAM.org to benefit members enduring a strike, creating a unique opportunity for IAM members and supporters who wish to provide aid.

Providing additional support to sisters and brothers from across this great union to the mantra of – “one day longer” etches our Fighting Machinists’ solidarity in stone.

The IAM Strike Fund allows for donations of non-dues money from members, families, friends, and other labor supporters.

The IAM is encouraging other locals, districts, and allies to contribute to the IAM Union District 837 strike fund to help sustain members as they continue their fight for a fair contract.

The IAM Union (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers) represents approximately 600,000 active and retired members in aerospace, defense, airlines, shipbuilding, rail, transit, healthcare, automotive, and other industries across North America.
