Join IAM CREST for the Upcoming Chemical Emergency Response Course

The deadline for the 2025 IAM CREST Chemical Emergency Response Course, which will be held March 23, 2025, at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Md., is Monday, Jan. 27. 

The class will cover an understanding of health and safety controls required by Appendix E of 29 CFR 1910.120 and the NIOSH Minimum Criteria for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Utilize resources such as the Department of Transportation Emergency Response Guidebook, NIOSH Pocket Guide, NFPA, and SDS to identify chemical hazards.
  • Apply OSHA standards to their worksites through simulated response scenarios.
  • Select appropriate personal protective equipment and respirators for various scenarios.
  • Identify site-specific chemicals of concern and understand their potential health risks.
  • Safely participate in simulated chemical emergency response and decontamination exercises, contributing to self-assessments of the response.
