International Vice President
Lori Ann Ames became National President of the United Service Workers of America, a TCU division, effective January 2001. In that post, she also serves as an International Vice President, the first woman to hold this position in TCU’s history. In 1993, Lori created Local 95 of the National Association of 9 to 5 Employees, went on to be an organizer for the Machinists and worked for the Service Employees International Union. She then organized for the USWA, ran two local unions and was promoted to National Trustee, serving on TCU’s Board of Trustees until being elected to the top USWA position.
