December 3, 2007—The 2008 employee health and welfare cost-sharing contribution amount under the recent national freight rail agreement will remain exactly the same as it was in 2007. At $166.25, the figure is well below the $177 projection used in the explanation sent to members during the ratification process. “The fact that there will be no increase in cost-sharing payments for 2008 is an extrememly positive development that comes as a result of the cost-sharing changes ratified by our members,” says International President Robert A. Scardelletti. “In addition, our efforts to implement new programs that will improve the health and wellbeing of all Plan participants have significantly reduced costs without reducing benefits.” Read his letter to TCU leaders.
