New Contract Goes into Effect for NY and NJ PATH Members

On Thursday September 3, 2009 a seven year agreement between the Port Authority Trans-Hudson Corporation (PATH) and the TCU ARASA Division became effective. This agreement gives 3% wage increases for each year of the agreement. An additional wage increase was given to every member with four years or more increasing their base salary by 1.5%. Full retroactive back pay of approximately $50,000 will be paid to each member.

Increased coverage in health and welfare is also included. The dental plan now covers orthodontic procedures and health coverage is now expanded to include same-sex domestic partners. The continued health care coverage will be increased with no contributions from the membership. Overall there were no major givebacks or concessions.

International Representative Joe Derillo said, “I wish to thank Gary Wertz (Local Chairman 5075) for his skilled efforts and diligence. In these economic times this is much more than an excellent contract. It will change the lives of these members for the better.”
