All TCU Members Invited to Enter IAM’s 2009 Photo Contest
The IAM’s annual photo contest is now under way, and the Machinists are hoping that lots of TCU members will enter their photos taken on the job. Entries should catch TCU or IAM members at work in a previously un-posted photo. Winners will receive a cash prize and their photos will appear in the 2010 IAM Calendar. Photos can be in digital or film format. Digital photos must be shot with at least a three megapixel camera and must be on the fine setting. The deadline for photos to be submitted is June 1, 2009. Two dollars from each calendar sold will be donated to the Guide Dogs of America.

Locals Encouraged to Enter Newsletter and Website Contests
Also just launched is the IAM’s newsletter and website contest for union newsletters published between April 2008 and April 2009 and websites operating online during the same period. The deadline for entries is Friday, May 1, 2009. Find out more about categories and download entry forms here.
“These are exciting programs to give recognition where recognition is due, and I greatly hope that many members will send photos for the contest,” says International President Bob Scardelletti. “My thought is the same for the locals that put out newsletters or have their own websites—all it takes is completing the form and getting it in on time and who knows…we might have lots of TCU winners.”
