President Obama-Now is the Time for Real Health Care Reform

President Obama electrified the thousands of attendees at the AFL-CIO Convention in Pittsburgh. He spoke powerfully about the importance of unions, and our urgent need to rein in insurance company abuses and for real health insurance reform. Building on this momentum, AFL-CIO President Rich Trumka encouraged attendees to heed the President’s words and take action.

New Contract Goes into Effect for NY and NJ PATH Members

On Thursday September 3, 2009 a seven year agreement between the Port Authority Trans-Hudson Corporation (PATH) and the TCU ARASA Division became effective. This agreement gives 3% wage increases for each year of the agreement. An additional wage increase was given to every member with four years or more increasing their base salary by 1.5%.

RRB Releases Q and A on Railroad Retirement Spouse Benefits

The Railroad Retirement Act provides annuities for the spouses of retired railroad employees. These benefits are paid directly to the spouse. Divorced spouses may also qualify for benefits. Click here to view the RRB release. Posted September 11, 2009
