Your Vote Counts – High Speed Rail Will Face Uphill Battle in Some States Due to Elections

Some of the states that received the highest funding for high speed rail projects now face a new test, their Governor. Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Texas and Wisconsin all had Republican Governors win their races, each has stated they will reduce high speed rail in some way. In Wisconsin a major high speed rail project was put on hold just because of the results of the election even before the Governor takes office.

These Governors all believe that good paying middle class jobs should be sacrificed to fix their states’ financial woes.

“No industry is more closely tied to politics than the railroad industry. I always say your vote counts. Every election in every state is so important,” said TCU President Bob Scardelletti.
