Wisconsin Union Busting Law Struck Down in State Court

Dane County Wisconsin Judge Juan Colas has struck down nearly all of the state law championed by Gov. Scott Walker that effectively ended collective bargaining rights for most public workers.

In his ruling, Colas said Walker’s law violated union members’ freedom of speech and association and equal protection under the law because Walker’s bill subjected union-represented jobs to restrictions not faced by other public employees.

“This law was union busting plain and simple, thankfully the court agreed that those collective bargaining rights cannot be taken away,” said TCU President Bob Scardelletti.
