IAM Flight Attendants at National Airlines Overwhelmingly Ratify Strong First Agreement

Flight Attendants at National Airlines have voted overwhelmingly to ratify a historic first contract that includes wage increases of up to 30% on the contract’s ratification date.

The newly ratified collective bargaining agreements includes wage increases from 8% to 30% on the date of ratification, increased uniform allowances, hotel accommodation improvements, job security, 150% premium for involuntary hours, classroom and online training pay, a grievance procedure, and safety and scheduling committees.

“The entire IAM family sends its congratulations to National Airlines Flight Attendants for their strong first contract,” said IAM Air Transport Territory General Vice President Richie Johnsen. “We’re so grateful to District 142, Airline Coordinator Tom Regan, Grand Lodge Representative Jeff Tobius and the entire negotiating team for standing together for this agreement.”

“We are proud of the members at National Airlines who have worked together with their negotiating team to secure the contract they deserve,” said IAM District 142 President and Directing General Chair John M. Coveny. “We look forward to working with our membership as this new contract is implemented and appreciate your steadfast solidarity.”

National Airlines Flight Attendants voted overwhelmingly to join the IAM in January 2022, then attended a negotiations preparation class at the IAM’s William W. Winipisinger Center in June 2022.

“It has been an honor to be at the negotiating table with this strong committee,” said IAM Airline Coordinator Tom Regan. “The solidarity of this group made it possible to obtain just a strong first agreement that will help set the standard for future contracts at National Airlines.”

The IAM represents approximately 55 Flight Attendants at the Orlando-based airline.

“The Air Transport Territory continues to grow and raise standards throughout the industry,” said IAM Air Transport Territory Chief of Staff Edison Fraser. “We’re thrilled for National Airlines Flight Attendants and we’re so glad their voices are being heard.”
