Americans Dissatisfied With Economy, Job Growth

February 1, 2006 – While President Bush continues to blindly tout strong economic growth, millions of Americans are dissatisfied with today’s economy. A report from the Economic Policy Institute says sluggish job growth and continued unemployment are two of the main reasons for the public’s displeasure.
Job growth was only 1.5 percent last year, far below historical trends. Substandard wages and unfruitful tax cuts are also reasons Americans are dissatisfied with the economy, according to the EPI report.
