Bush Administration Remains Soft on China

October 26, 2005 – U.S. Secretary Treasurer John Snow has said legislation seeking new tariff’s on China’s goods is not the way to get the Communist government to strengthen their currency, continuing the Bush administration’s soft stance on China’s unfair trade practices.
However, Chinese officials have repeatedly said they have no intentions of strengthening their currency any further. Meanwhile, the U.S. trade deficit with China continues to skyrocket as manufacturing jobs continue to diminish.
