Michigan, New York Hit Hard by Manufacturing Job Loss

October 25, 2007 – The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has reported 40 states have experienced job loss in the manufacturing sector over the past year, with Michigan, New York and Ohio the hardest hit.

States hit hardest by manufacturing job loss:

Michigan: – 22,500
New York: – 15,900
Ohio: – 15,000
Pennsylvania: -13,300
Texas: – 10,700
Tennessee: – 10,700
North Carolina: – 10,600
Georgia: – 10,400
